Our latest display at Heanor Library is something different.
None of the pictures on display will be new to you – they are mainly taken from our own calendars. However, they have been expertly worked into 3D decoupage pictures by one of our talented members, Brian Coleman. They are really quite stunning – go and have a look.
The art of decoupage has been around for centuries, and was particularly popular in the eighteenth century. Identical pictures are cut out and then reformed in layers to give added depth. These are really attractive, especially since they depict local scenes.
