Saturday 28 June 2025 the Society holding a large exhibition, “Yesterday Once More”, at the Wilmot Street Centre; over 250 people attended on a really hot day, and the feedback has been excellent. As well as more than 40 panels of photographs and information presented by the Society, there were also stalls from other local groups, including:
– The Friends of Marlpool Station
– Ilkeston & District Local History Society
– The Erewash Canal Preservation and Development Association
– The Friends of Bennerley Viaduct
– Ripley Heritage Trust.
The event was officially opened by the Member of Parliament for Amber Valley, Linsey Farnsworth.
We also saw the launch of our latest book: Then and Now – The Changing Face of Shipley.
