2025 sees the 80th Anniversary of the end of the war in Europe on May 8th 1945.
The war had a momentous effect on all communities, so the end of the war (at least in Europe) was a time for major celebrations, despite the enduring austerity of the time.
In 2020 the Society prepared a newsletter to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of V.E. Day. However, this was during the Covid restrictions, when we were not having meetings, and newsletter was only ever published digitally. Five years on, we are now making this available on the website for all to view.
